Evidence based, medically supported treatment that actually works
As doctors, we will only prescribe a treatment that has been tried, tested and is effective.
Have a look at the STEP clinical trial data of Wegovy® below. This data can been referenced entirely here if you would like to look in more detail.
Step 1 Wegovy® Trial
Summary: Alongside achievable diet and exercise changes, Wegovy® patients achieve significantly higher weight loss compared to placebo.
This trial looked at 1961 patients without diabetes who were obese or overweight with 1 weight related comorbidity. They were randomised 2:1 into a Wegovy® receiving group or a placebo group. Every patient increased their physical activity to 150 minutes per week and was placed on a -500kcal/day deficit.
On average, after 68 weeks the patients receiving Wegovy® achieved a 14.9% weight loss compared to 2.5% in the placebo group.
Step 4 Wegovy® Trial
Summary: Continued treatment with Wegovy® helps patients loose more weight and keep it off.
This 68 week trial looked at 902 patients without diabetes who were obese or overweight with one weight related comorbidity. All patients received Wegovy® for 20 weeks. After this period they were randomised 2:1 to either continue Wegovy® or receive a placebo. All patients increased their physical activity to 150 minutes per week and were placed on a -500kcal/day deficit.
On average, after 68 weeks the patients who continued to use Wegovy® achieved a 17.4% weight loss compared to 5% in the placebo group.
Step 5 Wegovy® Trial
Summary: Wegovy® patients sustain weight loss.
This 2 year trial looked at 304 patients without diabetes who were obese or overweight with one weight related comorbidity. Patients were randomised 1:1 to receive Wegovy® or placebo. All patients increased their physical activity to 150 minutes per week and were placed on a -500kcal/day deficit.
